    My pump has a charging, battery or power issue

    Follow this guide to help solve common charging, battery or power issues with your ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ electric breast pump, including:

    • My pump charges slowly
    • My pump won't charge
    • My pump turns off by itself
    • My pump works poorly when plugged in
    • My pump charges but won't work when plugged in
    • My pump won't turn on
    • My pump displays "Er" and turns off suddenly

    Important: Before following these troubleshooting steps, please first identify the electric breast pump you use.

    • White motor units have a rechargeable battery.
    • Pink motor units do not contain a rechargeable battery and can only be used while connected to a power source.

    Please take your time and read each section carefully. Philips support staff uses the information and solutions in this article to solve most battery, charging and power-related issues.

    Using the wrong charging accessories is the biggest cause of charging, battery and power issues for ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ electric breast pumps.

    Only use the original power adapter or charging cable that came with your device. If you've purchased a newer model that didn't come with an adapter, check your pump's user manual and make sure that you're only using charging accessories that match the recommended specifications.

    1. Only use adapters or power sources (wall sockets, USB ports etc.) with an output of 5ÌýV 1.8ÌýA (9ÌýW) or higher (user manual may show higher voltage).

    2. Only use the original Type-C charging cable. See the notice below for more info.

    Using a weak adapter/power source will cause the pump to charge slowly or malfunction when plugged in.

    Important notice: Check your current charging adapter or cable

    Your pump is only designed to charge properly with the correct power adapter or cable. Check the following recommendations for your pump model.

    ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ Single/Double Electric Breast Pump

    Philips offers a replacement micro-USB power adapter for all older ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ Single/Double Electric Breast Pump models due to quality issues with the original adapter.

    Check the images below to confirm whether or not you're using the old adapter.

    If you're still using the old adapter, go to philips.com/support and contact the Philips Consumer Care Centre in your country to have your adapter replaced. Using the old adapter may cause charging and performance issues with your pump.

    If you're already using the new adapter, ignore this notice.

    ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ Hands-free Electric Breast Pump

    The USB type-C charging cable for your Hands-free Electric Breast Pump is specially designed to meet its charging requirements. Using generic type-C cables may result in charging or power issues.

    Double-check that your power adapter or charging cable is plugged into an outlet or other power source, and then make sure that the other end of the cable is securely connected to the motor unit.

    A loose connection, unplugged power adapter or charging cable can cause your pump to malfunction, not charge, lose power during use or not turn on.

    The battery indicator lights should flash on if your pump is properly plugged in and connected to the adapter.

    If your power adapter or charging cable is properly plugged in and connected to the motor unit but still experiencing issues, try changing to a different outlet or power source.

    Your pump may have low or no battery life remaining. You can monitor your pump's battery level by checking the battery indicator lights on the motor unit.

    If your pump's battery is low or dead, try charging it. The table below shows your pump's estimated charging time, number of pumping sessions and total pumping time.

    Note: One pumping session is 15Ìýminutes with a double pump and 30Ìýminutes for a single pump.

    *All rechargeable batteries age over time due to repeated use and other factors. Your pump's battery life, charging and pumping duration may change as a result.

    Tips:

        • Track how many sessions you've pumped on one charge to help you know when you need to recharge.
        • Track how long you've been pumping. Your pump has a built-in feature that turns it off automatically 30Ìýminutes after the last button is pressed on the motor unit.

    If your battery is low and you need to express milk, plug your pump into an outlet or other power source and run it plugged in. Your pump will not charge if you pump while plugged in.

    Is your pump overheating or does it feel cold to the touch? Exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures or charging the pump when overheating impacts its charging and performance.

    Allow the motor unit and battery to cool down for around 15Ìýminutes before charging after pumping sessions.

    Also, only use and store your pump in places with a comfortable room temperature (20°C/68°F). Don't place it in direct sunlight for long periods or store it in extremely hot or cold environments.

    If you've been using or storing your pump in a hot or cold place, take it somewhere at a stable room temperature and let it sit for about 30Ìýminutes before using or charging it.

    The battery in your ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ Single, Double or Hands-Free Electric Breast Pump runs out when left unused for long periods.

    Do the following:

    1. Try plugging in your pump and charging the battery. If it won't charge, disconnect your power adapter or charging cable from its current outlet/power source and plug it back in to reset your pump's charging protocol. Repeat as necessary until your pump charges normally and allow it to charge to full battery.
    2. Check whether you're using the correct adapter and charging accessories (see step 1 of this article for details).
    3. If you were storing your pump in a very hot or cold place, take it to a comfortable room-temperature environment (20°C/68°F) and let it sit for 30Ìýminutes before using/charging it again.

    If your motor unit is displaying the error message, "Er", and then turning off, check the following:

    1. If you're pumping on battery power, your motor unit may be overheating. If so, wait around 30Ìýminutes for it to cool down before using your pump again.
    2. Check whether you're using the correct charging adapter/cable (see step 1 of this article for details).
    3. You may have stored or tried using your pump in an extremely hot or cold environment. Take it to a comfortable room-temperature environment (20°C/68°F) and let it sit for 30Ìýminutes before using/charging it again.

    If your pump is still experiencing issues or not turning on, try a factory reset:

    1. Make sure that your pump is not connected to a USB power source.
    2. Press and hold the power button for 15Ìýseconds.
    3. If successful, the pump will turn on when the reset is complete.
